Project: I or I

My name “IORI” holds a hidden question: “I or I.” The “I” living in the outtie world, or the “other I” dwelling deep within the innee world. Exploring this duality and facing life in the present. The symbol of this is an imaginary flower called the Dual Flower. From a single twisted stem, like the cursive word “or,” two flowers bloom. Because “I” (pronounced “eye”) sounds the same, the flower has a center shaped like an eye, symbolizing "eye," and another center shaped like a heart, symbolizing "love." (A Japanese word 「愛」 (means “love” / pronounced “ai”) sounds very close to “I.”) Based on “seeing” and “feeling,” opposing energies breathe simultaneously on one single stem. They bloom at the same time, and both are believed to be right.These flowers do not bloom anywhere else, yet seem to bloom inside everyone’s heart.

IORIという私の名は「I or I」という問いが潜んでいる。外の世界を生きる「私」か心の奥に潜む「もう1人の私」。その二面性(duality)を模索し今を生きることに向き合う。その象徴が架空の花『Dual Flower（デュアルフラワー）』。筆記体の「or」のように捻れた1本の茎から 2つの花が咲く。「I(私)=アイ」と発音が同じことから、「eye=アイ(目)」を象徴する目の形の花芯と「Love(愛=アイ)」を象徴する愛の形の花芯。「視ること」と「感じること」をベースに相反するエネルギーがひとつの茎の上で同時に息づいている。同時に咲いていてどちらも正しいと思いたい。この花はどこにも咲いていないが、きっとあなたの心に咲いている。

DAICHI — eight flowers bloomed on scorched earth. "Violence," "Indifference," "Surveillance," "Hope," "Truth," "Rebirth,"　"Loss," and "Escape." Each dual flower holds opposing emotions within a single root. To survive is to pray. To raise one’s voice is to bloom. What blooms here is the shape of a feeling that was never named, and quietly lost.

DAICHI — 焼けた大地に咲いた8つの花。「暴力」「無関心」「監視」「希望」「真理」「再生」「喪失」「逃走」。dual flowerはすべて、対立する感情をひとつの根に宿しています。生き残ることは、祈ること。声を上げることは、咲くこと。ここに咲いたのは、誰かが名づけられなかったまま失くした、感情の形。

Playing Cards Parfum

Playing Cards Parfum：Within Project I or I, twelve Dual Flowers were created, each corresponding to a month from January to December. In this series, they are reimagined as perfumes centered on the theme of love. While a traditional deck consists of thirteen ranks, this work is composed of twelve. Twelve reflects the cycle of months, the passage of scent through time, and the rhythm of love moving through its phases. This project explores love not as romance, but as structure. As impulse, as choice, and as the consequences that follow. Each number marks a phase. Each suit (♥ ♠ ♦ ♣) reflects a temperament. Every card functions both as a perfume package illustration and as a poster designed to live on a wall.

トランプ・パルファム：Project I or I において、12種類の Dual Flower を制作しました。それぞれは1月から12月へと対応し、今回はそれらを「香水」として、愛をテーマに再構築しています。トランプは本来13枚で構成されますが、本作は12枚で制作しました。12という数は、月の循環であり、香りが時間の中をめぐる軌跡であり、愛が辿るひとつの周期を示しています。本作が探るのは、恋愛としての愛ではなく、構造としての愛。衝動、選択、そしてその先に生まれる結果。それぞれの数字はフェーズを示し、スート（♥ ♠ ♦ ♣）は気質を映します。各カードは香水のパッケージイラストであると同時に、壁に飾るポスターとして成立するイメージです。
