LIVE PAINTING and Workshop for YOKOHAMA PORTA

Our aim is to create a more attractive and welcoming environment for everyone who visits Yokohama Porta, while adding new value to the space and fostering a stronger sense of connection with the local community and our partners. With this vision in mind, we have launched an art-based spatial design initiative that not only enhances the environment but also serves as an opportunity to share our sustainability efforts with a wider audience. By displaying artworks throughout the facility, we hope to provide visitors with opportunities to encounter art naturally in their everyday lives and inspire them to reflect on sustainability. This initiative also includes participatory workshops, strengthening relationships with participants while creating new value through collaboration. In fiscal year 2024, the workshops were held with shop staff and Yokohama Porta employees. In fiscal year 2025, local children participated, and in fiscal year 2026, the program was expanded to include partner companies and affiliated organizations.

横浜ポルタに来館の皆様にとってより魅力的で心地よい空間をつくり、新たな価値を付加するとともに、地域や関係者の皆様とのつながりを感じられる場所を目指します。こうした考えのもと、環境美化に加え、当社のサステナビリティへの取組みを広く発信する機会として、アートを活用した空間演出を企画いたしました。施設内に作品を展示することで、来館者の皆様が日常の中で自然に作品に触れ、サステナビリティについて考えるきっかけを創出します。また、本取組みは参加型ワークショップとして実施しており、参加いただいた方々との関係性をより一層強化し、新たな価値創出へとつなげていきます。2024年度はショップ従業員・当社社員、2025年度は地域のこどもたち、2026年度はパートナー企業および関係機関のみなさまに参加いただきました。

Artwork1: Transit Yokohama

This work is inspired by one of Yokohama Porta's iconic entrances and the people who pass through it each day. It portrays Yokohama Porta as a place where diverse people and ideas intersect, creating new connections, conversations, and possibilities for the future.

横浜ポルタへと訪れる人と、横浜ポルタの象徴的な入り口をモチーフに描いた作品です。異なる人や想いが行き交い、重なり合うことで、新たなコミュニケーションや未来が生まれていく、そんな横浜ポルタの姿を表現しました。

Artwork2: Crossing Yokohama

Inspired by one of Yokohama Porta's iconic entrances, this work captures the flow of people and the energy that animates the city. Every day, countless people pass through Yokohama Porta, making it more than simply a place of transit—it is a place where chance encounters and new relationships begin. The artwork expresses the intersection of people, thoughts, and emotions, as well as the invisible rhythms, connections, and pulse that shape urban life.

横浜ポルタを行き交う人々の流れと、都市が持つエネルギーや気配を、横浜ポルタの“入り口”をモチーフに描いた作品です。日々多くの人が行き交う横浜ポルタは、ただ移動するための場所ではなく、偶然の出会いや新しい関係性が生まれる場所でもあります。交差する人や想い、都市に流れる見えないコミュニケーションや鼓動を表現しました。

Artwork1: A Bloom for Tomorrow

The gerbera symbolizes hope. In this work, that message is expressed through bright, colorful flowers rendered in a cheerful, pop-inspired style. At the center of the composition, a person living in the present hands a flower to someone from the future. Through the gerbera—a symbol of hope—the artwork expresses the wish that our thoughts, kindness, and aspirations can transcend time and be passed on to future generations.

ガーベラの花言葉は「希望」。この作品では、その思いをポップで明るいタッチの花で表現しています。 中央には、「今」を生きる人が「未来」の人に花を手渡すシーンを描いています。希望の象徴であるガーベラを通して、想いが時を超えてつながっていく、そんな願いを込めた作品です。

Artwork2: The Dance of Yokohama Blooming

Surrounding the word "YOKOHAMA," people join hands and dance together in celebration. The work represents a bright future shaped collectively by the people of Yokohama. It reflects the joy and positive energy that emerge through human connection. The vibrant colors and lively movement express the hope that this shared energy will continue to illuminate the future.

「YOKOHAMA」の文字とともに、手を取り合い、楽しそうに踊る人たち。この絵は、みんなでつくる横浜の明るい未来を表しています。誰かとつながることで生まれる楽しさや、前向きな力。色あざやかに広がるそのエネルギーが、未来を照らしていくことを願って描かれました。

Artwork1: Nameless Flower (名もなき花)

This work is composed of motifs inspired by flowers such as dogwood, bird of paradise, alstroemeria, peony, dahlia, and tree blossoms, each carrying meanings associated with sustainability, a brighter future, celebration, and hope in the language of flowers. By collaging these different floral motifs into the form of a single, vibrant bloom, I created a flower that does not exist in nature. It is an imaginary flower that blooms only here—a symbol born from the coming together of many wishes for a sustainable future.

木／ハナミズキ／ストレリチア／アルストロメリア／芍薬／ダリアなど、持続可能／輝く未来／祝福などサステナブルに関する花言葉を含む花をモチーフに構成し、モチーフとした花たちから、1つの花の形にカラフルにコラージュすることで、実際には存在しない花ですが、ここにしか咲かない花として描きました

Artwork1: Colorful Flowers (カラフルな花)

This work features flowers such as magnolia, dogwood, bird of paradise, alstroemeria, peony, and dahlia, all of which carry meanings related to sustainability, a brighter future, and celebration in the language of flowers. Rendered in muted tones reminiscent of dried flowers, the work reflects the hope that the messages embodied by these flowers will never fade. Like dried flowers that preserve their beauty over time, the artwork expresses a wish that the values of sustainability and hope will continue to endure for generations to come.

木蓮／ハナミズキ／ストレリチア／アルストロメリア／芍薬／ダリアなど、持続可能／輝く未来／祝福などサステナブルに関する花言葉を含む花をモチーフに構成し、色のトーンを下げて、ドライフラワーのようなイメージで描いた作品です。サステナブルな意味をもつ花言葉が、ドライにより枯れない（=税く）という願いを込めています。
